FORMOSA LADPRAO 7

This project is inspired by two nationalities, Thai and Taiwanese. Formosa; literally means, “Beautiful Island,” which is the historical name for Taiwan, inspired the main design concept. To depict a beautiful island in the middle of the concrete jungle, an option to isolate the building from surrounded dense context and create a verdant island is proposed.

To capture the dynamic rhythm and relaxing sensational ambiance, the key design of “Formosa” is translated into interior environment using multiple design tools such as weaving stripped wood wall, folding pattern metal display shelf and sea-bubble pattern and color scheme for fabric work as well as loose furniture theme of seaweed form. In addition, the modern dwelling is fulfilled with pocket courtyard concept which aims to create an individual private garden before entering the actual interior area. As a result, the typical condominium residence is tailored for “living with nature” harmony.
